Getting Killer Klowns Off of Your Roof

Or just learn to live with it.

We’ve all been there. You’re settling in for the night when you hear the unmistakable sound of oversized shoes squeaking across your shingles. You look out the window, and sure enough, there’s a pack of intergalactic Killer Klowns having a pizza party on your roof.

Whether they’re firing cotton candy cocoons into the neighbor's yard or just using your chimney as a popcorn popper, an infestation of lunar jesters is a serious roofing concern. Here is how to handle your new, colorful tenants.

1. The Direct Approach: The High-Pressure Hose

If you want them gone fast, Klowns are notoriously averse to basic home maintenance. A garden hose is a classic deterrent.

  • The Pro Tip: Aim for the red noses!
  • The Benefit: Not only does this clear the roof of unwanted performers, but it’s also a great way to check your gutter drainage. If the water (and the Klowns) aren’t flowing freely off the roof, you might have a clog deeper than a circus tent.

2. Check for "Popcorn" Damage

Klowns love their snacks, but popcorn seeds are surprisingly abrasive. If they’ve been loitering on your roof, those seeds can get under your shingles and cause lifting.

  • What to look for: Missing granules or "pockmarks" that look like hail damage but smell suspiciously like butter.

3. Learning to Live With It (The "Co-Existence" Strategy)

If the Klowns refuse to leave—maybe they’ve parked their big-top spaceship nearby and settled in—you might have to adapt.

  • Reinforce the Decking: Those oversized shoes and unicycles put a lot of "dead weight" on your roof. Ensure your roof structure is rated for "Heavy Foot Traffic" (and the occasional invisible car).
  • Glow-in-the-Dark Shingles: If they’re going to be up there firing green ray guns all night anyway, you might as well lean into the aesthetic. It’ll make your house the talk of the galaxy!

When to Call the Professionals

While we don't officially offer "Klown Mitigation Services," we do specialize in repairing the chaos they leave behind. If your roof has been trampled by a parade or scorched by a ray gun, it’s time for an inspection.
